How much is a Machamp card worth?

Ungraded, Machamp cards run from $1 to $301 on PriceCharting. Across the 51 priced Machamp cards on this page (a 1st Edition or Shadowless printing counts as its own card), the middle one is about $11 ungraded; 4 are $100 or more and 18 are under $5. The dearest is Machamp, Skyridge #H15 at about $301 ungraded and $4,738 in a PSA 10.Prices from PriceCharting, pulled 8 September to 16 October 2026.

Counting cards that name it first, there are 45 English Machamp cards, spread over 29 sets between 1999 and 2023. The first was Machamp in Base Set, 9 January 1999, drawn by Ken Sugimori in the very first English sets. It has carried 10 of the game's card types over the years — EX, GX, V, Dark — and a collector will pay wildly different money for each.

Ungraded: where the 51 priced Machamp cards and printings sit

Condition decides most of it. The figures above are for ungraded cards. The same card graded is a different market entirely — the dearest Machamp here reaches $8,228 in a PSA 10 slab. A PSA 10 is a flawless grade and it is the exception, not what to expect of a card that has been in a binder — on this page a PSA 10 is a median 35 times the same card ungraded. Every card below shows both ends, raw and graded, so you can see which band yours could sit in.

What we pay is a different number again. These are what collectors pay each other. A buyer pays less than that, because a buyer takes on the waiting, the fees and the risk — which is why you get our number on the phone, in one call, before anything is posted.

Spaced by ratio, not by dollars, so the cheap end stays readable. Tap a handle to jump to that card. Prices from PriceCharting, pulled 8 September to 16 October 2026.

The 5 dearest Machamp cards with every grade listed, raw to PSA 10

Every grade PriceCharting lists for the 5 Machamp cards with the highest ungraded price, led by Machamp from Skyridge. 3 dearer Machamp printings (Machamp, Base Set #8, Shadowless; Dark Machamp, Team Rocket #10, 1st Edition; Giovanni's Machamp, Gym Challenge #6, 1st Edition) are priced from PriceCharting’s set page only — ungraded, Grade 9 and PSA 10 — so they are on the tiles below rather than in this table.

45 English Machamp cards, oldest first.

The set name and the number at the bottom of the card are what tell one Machamp from the other 44 — there are 3 different cards called “Machamp-GX” in Burning Shadows alone. Each one shows both ends — what it trades for ungraded, and what it reaches in a PSA 10 slab. Tap a card for the grades in between and what to read down the phone. The 5 Machamp cards from 1st Edition era sets list each printing on its own row — 1st Edition, Shadowless where Base Set had one, and Unlimited — and the picture on those tiles is the 1st Edition. Not counted here: Machamp is also named on “Marshadow & Machamp-GX” (4 printings), filed with the Marshadow cards.

What decides the number

Five things about your Machamp, in order of how much they matter.

  1. Which printing. Machamp spans 29 sets, from Base Set in 1999 to 151 in 2023, and the set symbol beside the picture is what tells one from another before anything else about the card is worth discussing.
  2. First edition and shadowless. 5 of the 45 come from sets printed in a 1st Edition run, and on a Machamp of that age the small “1 Edition” stamp left of the art, or a Base Set frame throwing no drop shadow down the right of the picture, changes the price, often several times over. On PriceCharting the 1st Edition Giovanni's Machamp from Gym Challenge is about $115 ungraded against $55 for the Unlimited one, 2 times as much.
  3. Which card type. A Machamp EX and a Machamp GX are different cards that happen to share a name — Machamp has been printed as 10 types in all, so the word beside Machamp at the top decides which of the 45 you own.
  4. Promo stamps. 5 of the 45 Machamp cards were promos rather than pack pulls, and a black star, a tournament stamp or a set-launch mark in the corner is what separates one Machamp promo from another with the same picture.
  5. Centering. Hold your Machamp at arm’s length and look at the border: a Machamp with a visibly fatter margin on one side is capped on grade before condition is even discussed, and with 5 of the 45 from Astral Radiance alone, that is the set to check most carefully.
  • The commonest rarity among Machamp cards is Rare Holo — 16 of the 45.
  • Ken Sugimori has illustrated Machamp more than anyone else, 5 times.
  • Astral Radiance carries the most Machamp cards of any single set (5).
  • Machamp has been printed under 10 card types: EX, GX, V, Dark, VMAX, owner’s card, Light, LV.X, SP, BREAK.
  • No English Machamp card of any kind was printed in the 2 years between 2010 and 2013.
  • 5 of the 45 Machamp cards come from 1999–2000, the printings collectors ask after most.
  • 27 different illustrators have drawn Machamp.
  • 24 years separate the first Machamp card from the newest.
