There are 59 English Rayquaza cards, spread over 30 sets between 2003 and 2026. It did not debut in a booster pack at all: the first was Rayquaza ex in Nintendo Black Star Promos, 1 October 2003, handed out during the e-Card and EX years. It has carried 12 of the game's card types over the years — EX, VMAX, Mega EX, V — and a collector will pay wildly different money for each.

Ungraded: where the 59 priced Rayquaza cards sit

Condition decides most of it. The figures above are for ungraded cards. The same card graded is a different market entirely — the dearest Rayquaza here reaches $365,750 in a PSA 10 slab. A PSA 10 is a flawless grade and it is the exception, not what to expect of a card that has been in a binder — on this page a PSA 10 is a median 34 times the same card ungraded. Every card below shows both ends, raw and graded, so you can see which band yours could sit in.

What we pay is a different number again. These are what collectors pay each other. A buyer pays less than that, because a buyer takes on the waiting, the fees and the risk — which is why you get our number on the phone, in one call, before anything is posted.

Spaced by ratio, not by dollars, so the cheap end stays readable. Tap a handle to jump to that card. Prices from PriceCharting, pulled 8 September to 16 October 2026.

The set name and the number at the bottom of the card are what tell one Rayquaza from the other 58 — there are 4 different cards called “Rayquaza-GX” in Celestial Storm alone. What decides the number

Five things about your Rayquaza, in order of how much they matter.

  1. Which printing. Rayquaza spans 30 sets, from Nintendo Black Star Promos in 2003 to Ascended Heroes in 2026, and the set symbol beside the picture is what tells one from another before anything else about the card is worth discussing.
  2. Which card type. A Rayquaza EX and a Rayquaza VMAX are different cards that happen to share a name — Rayquaza has been printed as 12 types in all, so the word beside Rayquaza at the top decides which of the 59 you own.
  3. Promo stamps. 10 of the 59 Rayquaza cards were promos rather than pack pulls, and a black star, a tournament stamp or a set-launch mark in the corner is what separates one Rayquaza promo from another with the same picture.
  4. The Gold Star one. 1 Rayquaza card carries the Gold Star treatment — if the symbol ★ sits after Rayquaza on your card, that is the first thing to tell us.
  5. Centering. Hold your Rayquaza at arm’s length and look at the border: a Rayquaza with a visibly fatter margin on one side is capped on grade before condition is even discussed, and with 6 of the 59 from Roaring Skies alone, that is the set to check most carefully.
  • The commonest rarity among Rayquaza cards is Promo — 10 of the 59.
  • 5ban Graphics has illustrated Rayquaza more than anyone else, 16 times.
  • Roaring Skies carries the most Rayquaza cards of any single set (6).
  • Rayquaza has been printed under 12 card types, among them EX, VMAX, Mega EX, V, ex (2003–07), GX, Delta Species, LV.X, Tag Team, Gold Star.
  • 26 different illustrators have drawn Rayquaza.
  • 23 years separate the first Rayquaza card from the newest.
